Fried Green Tomatoes

Ingredients

  • 5 firm green tomatoes
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. 1.

    Wash tomatoes and remove stems.

  2. 2.

    Slice tomatoes approximately 1-inch thick.

  3. 3.

    Heat oil in skillet.

  4. 4.

    Mix flour, salt and pepper.

  5. 5.

    Coat both sides of tomatoes in flour mixture and place in hot oil.

  6. 6.

    Cook until browned and tender.
